  2. Private drilling.

    There we go.

  3. It's official ...kinda

Jimmy Fallon will be the next host of Late Night. The network is expected to make a public announcement next week during their Upfront presentation.

  4. The one good side to this is that if Fallon bombs then maybe we'll be rid of him for good. Thus far he's been able to meander his way through the entertainment business despite himself. But when it's just him on camera for an hour a night it'll be much harder to hide his constant laughing at himself, which is going to get old.

  5. The people with whom I work who are my age and married took their Golden Retriever puppy up to Michigan and allowed the puppy to romp through a river for an afternoon.

That sounds like a delightful thing to do with a puppy for an afternoon. Especially since Golden Retriever puppies are for the win.

  6. there is an ad in the Times Union last week for pug puppies.

i love pugs....they are fucking cute...and sneeze, which is also fucking cute.

  7. Men in Black II ruined Pugs for me.

  8. Speed Racer bombed

Apparently "causes epileptic fits" isn't a compelling tagline.

  9. I discovered that at lunch I can go to Marsh and for $6.41 purchase a Roasted Chicken.

    This is a wonderful discovery.

Usually I purchase the items required to make turkey sandwiches or soup at lunch and that comes to about $3 for the sandwich or $1.55 for soup. So the Roasted Chicken is a bit more, but it is enough food to serve as both lunch and dinner.

So, like cookies, it will probably be a sometimes food. But it's still freaking awesome.

  10. Internet says that Season 3 of Venture Bros starts June 6

  11. .... Jay, you need to go shopping more, to realize what all can be bought.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Shopping takes my money away.

I need that money to escape real life.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, shopping does not take money away. Buying things takes my money away.

But shopping puts me in a position to buy.

  14. MSNBC After Dark is quite possibly the greatest 24-hour News Network programming ever.

  15. Why Hillary Failed in West Virginia.

It is very DailyKos Obama Fanboyish.

but the poster makes a really good point.

  16. I love the zero punctuation Brawl review.

  17. That DailyKos article is quite neat.

  18. One of the people with whom I work just made a Three's Company reference.

I told him that I think I've found an apartment and he asked if I'm going to be like Jack Tripper and have two female roommates.

My hope is that his focus was on the two female roommates and not on my having to pretend that I'm gay. Which, as far as I know, is not a requirement for this particular apartment.

  20. Check out this New Alienware Laptop.

    It has a built-in subwoofer.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So, that flash spinning laptop animation is annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree.

Unless it is an accurate portrayal of how the laptop sits on a desk.

Cause that would be...irritating and not functional.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm not sure we could call that kind of behavior sitting on a desk.

    ReplyDelete
  24. That depends on where the laptop stops and the desk begins.

If the field within which the laptop rotates is part of the laptop and sits on the desk? Then the laptop could very well both sit on the desk and rotate above the desk.

  25. Posting this here so I don't lose it.

    Destruction Pots:
2% crit and 120 damage for 6 shadowbolts is on average the same as +12% crit and 720spellpower for one bolt, say 1200-1500 damage, and that's being very, very generous.

    Mana Pots:
A mana potion gives you two GCDs, or roughly a shadow bolt's worth, say 2000-2500. This is ignoring multipliers like CoS, DS, Misery, Shadoweaving, they work for both. Under normal circumstances, the mana pot will win by a mile.

    General:
Concluding...These pots will shine in short encounters like maybe Akama (no mana problems, although maybe not the boss u'll want to pot for ), Teron (pew pew like there is no tomorrow cause in 5 secs u can become the ghost) and fights where u need fast burst dmg (Kael p2 for example). For longer stuff mana pot looks better.

  26. God damn it.

Someone at work just told me that freezing water in my plastic bottle was going to give me Cancer.

    And it isn't.

    Despite whatever they may say.

    That's a pretty funny insult.

  28. 19 posts in a week makes the blog somewhat confusing and convoluted.

I wish Kyle had the time to develop a backbone for a site that could present our posts in a sensible way.

    Alas.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah. It's the number of posts that does that. Kyle, you definitely need to get to work on this issue. Let's make it our #1 priority from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We had a really nice design thought up. Then Kyle decided that he didn't want to spend all of his free time coding a new blog/forum layout.

    Freaking slacker.

    ReplyDelete
  31. why not use wordpress? There is no reason to start from scratch. Use that code and put your design on top of it?

    ReplyDelete
  32. The idea was to combine a blog and a forum. So the homepage would be bloggish in that the posts would appear in an aesthetically pleasing manner. But each post would link to the forum in that the comments for a given post would appear in the forum.

So if you make a post entitled "George Lucas is my daddy" then in the forum there is a "George Lucas in my daddy" thread which is comments for that post.

That way when someone replies to a post that is a year old the reply is not lost forever given that while the blog post is buried the reply jumps to the top of the replies in the forum.

  33. Short version:

I went home for a week and did some things including seeing both Expelled and Iron Man with my parents, and my dad thought Iron Man included scenes of laughable implausibility.

Not Expelled, Iron Man. One was ok, the other was fanciful and impossible. I found that interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Of course Iron Man includes laughable implausibility.

The Real Tony Stark would be about eight sheets to the wind, poor Mr. Downey Jr. can only rock about 6 sheets.

Not bad, certainly, but still hillariously shy of a Stark's tolerance.

Laugh, man.. lest you cry. Laugh and remember, Samuel Jackson IS Nick Fury.
