Guitar Hero: On Tour will come with a Guitar Grip that plugs into the GBA slot of your DS and allows players to fret along with a song while strumming digital strings on the screen. The Guitar Grip includes a hand strap and a little storage compartment for the specially designed stylus pick.

Putting Guitar Hero on the DS seems like one of those crazy hacks where some dudes get Linux working on a microwave or whatever: it's not there to do anything useful, it's just there lest anyone say it could not be done.

ReplyDeleteIt is quite neat that someone thought to do this. I think that making an addon which goes into the GBA cartridge slot is entirely brilliant and effectively utilizes the hardware in a way nothing else has so far.
This doesn't change the fact, though, that trying to play guitar hero on a DS using that addon will cause severe hand cramps.
I'm tempted to buy it if only to encourage more use of the GBA slot. Initially I thought that the GBA slot could only be used to read data off of a cartridge. But if the GBA slot can be used as an additional form of user input as it is with Guitar Hero?
That's just damn shiny.
