  4. which is why everyone else is staying away?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Possibly.

[chat] does not care, though. [chat] hates them.

  7. $81 to send out my GRE scores.

Grad Schools exist to make money off these damn tests.

  8. Man, it's misanthropic [chat] week and Human Rights Day?

    Who could have foreseen that?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah kind of ironic. [chat] hates people this week. The Human Rights Day planners should have known better than to assign today to be their day.

  11. according to teenie, had you a 360, you would at least receive an achievement and some gamer's points for making 90% of the way through One and failing on expert.

  12. I do enjoy consolation prizes.

  14. It went away because I thought people would not enjoy it.

It shall return like a phoenix...or...a post.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It has returned from the grave. Let us worship it and boycott movies for its glory.

    ReplyDelete
  16. yes!

SIDE NOTE: any word on whether warsaw will pick up Golden Compass this week? It was the number one movie by a ton last week (which is great for applying pressure), and I don't see how it can be any more damaging to Christians than I am Legend which is the big opener this week.

  17. Golden Compass didn't make as much as some people baselessly speculated that it would make which means that the boycott by the Catholic League was successful.

For more on this you can read about Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

I think that I Am Legend will be in Warsaw because Will Smith is the black actor the whole family can agree on. I don't know about Golden Compass yet.

I still don't know why Warsaw showed HITMAN but not GOLDEN COMPASS. Well, I do know why, but in that "Wal-Mart sells shotguns but not pornography" sort of way. I don't know or understand it so much as I know what words they would say.

  18. Does Walmart sell shotguns in their stores on the east coast?

  19. People in the office were complaining about teachers who do not give "A"s.

It's interesting to hear what people think College ought to be.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Alex here has been complaining about that in Thornton's class...

Less because he thinks he deserves an A, and more because he thinks everyone else in the class deserves much much much lower.

  21. I agree whole heartedly that grades should be given out based upon performance and less so upon pleasing the receiver of the grade.

  22. Andrew received an "A" from a professor who does not give "A"s.

He simply had to write an incredibly good paper.

Which is something lots of people cannot do.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am so awesome.
and I got an A+ on an essay once from the same proff. cause im that awesome... but only when it comes to contemporary art.

  24. I hate frontpage.

I like it for what it lets me do. I hate it for what it prevents me from doing.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Poo on logic.

I want it to let me absolutely define paths to images rather than define them relative to the page itself.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Some images I can define absolutely...others I cannot.

    The hell?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kill people who says "How's come?".

    Either that or reply "Salty".

    ReplyDelete
  28. On the grades thing... yeah.. I told him to write better..

His beef is more with the class than the grade, I suppose.

mostly because the class wrote biographies... well.. one claimed to write an Autobiography... of someone else.. . but the assignment was an argumentative thesis.. so... he's got some ground for griping.. but he's a damned science major and lets everyone know it, so I don't feel too much sympathy.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Science majors don't know anything.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You see the new Zero Punctuation?

    You'll nod approvingly.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Umm. in most thornton classes there are usually several writing assignments and you dont have to do them in order. so my question is, did he read teh syllibus?

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's possibly that he objectively verified the existence of the syllibus and deduced that to be sufficient.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I suspect J's right.

then again, he could be absolutely correct as well.

I mean.. titling your paper an autobiography and writing about someone else?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I mean.. titling your paper an autobiography and writing about someone else?

Maybe they pretended to be the person or have a unique understanding of "self".

    ReplyDelete
  35. I just beat One on Expert.

    So, yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Did those little Bs appear next to people's names before?

    ReplyDelete
