Droboses are nice when they work and a pain in the ass when they do not work. It's one of those situations where the simplicity of the interface is great when the device functions and fucking terrible when the device takes a shit.
PC won't recognize Drobo...Drobo has no buttons on it...so I...fuck?
To fix it I pulled out all the harddrives, restarted the computer until it saw the Drobo without drives in it, and then replaced the drives one at a time.
So it works now...but pain in the ass to get it there.
I would like to bitch and rant about Palin...but I can't think of anything specific.
If one has a dog with a bladder infection and it constantly shits on the floor then it makes no sense to bitch about the dog shitting on the floor; that is simply what the dog does.
I think Palin is a similar case. She did something stupid? Well...yeah...
A Blackberry using Skype on WiFi does not use one's minutes or data limits.
So when my boss goes to Japan to talk about John Dewey to a bunch of sandal wearing goldfish tenders he can use Skype to call the U.S. and not have to pay the shithole-asinine expenses Verizon would charge him.
Then why have a phone at all? Would not a laptop be a better solution? I just can't wrap my head around using Skype on a phone. It's like hooking up a generator to the outlet in your house to get electricity.
If one does not have a laptop and only carries one's blackberry then it would make sense to put skype on the blackberry.
If one has a laptop, though...
Well, say you're in a McDonald's in Japan and you suddenly remember that you have to call someone. The McDonald's has WiFi...but you do not have your laptop...and you don't want to use your phone minutes.
So you can use skype over the WiFi.
It's not something one permanently uses. It's just a nice option for when one is in a WiFi area.
Plus, Japan is all "get off my phone network" like it was Harrison Ford. It's 3G or nothing, and for a lot of Blackberry models, that means it's nothing.
Oh man, I bet the Japanese Harrison Ford is a gas. "Getto offu mai purein" coming out of a guy with a strangely deep tan, well-groomed hair dyed grey and a smile that shines through even his withering scowl.

I think maybe it's the HSBC building or something, I don't know. Anyway, I found a picture of it on my memory card!
