I would say that he went from being an idiot to a liar to a dogmatic pseudo-idealist.
What I thought most interesting was his unabashed refusal to consider the possibility that Cheney and Bush were opportunistic jackasses. He clings to this notion that they acted with good intentions despite what would be considered by some to be empirical evidence to the contrary.
