Pro Mode ceases to be a game as difficulty approaches Expert. Suspect that someone able to travel around the two octaves of keyboard freely might still find it game-like. Someone like me needs to take it slow and practice before playing a song.
If the objective is to get people to try to play real instruments (I think it is), then it works pretty well. Is like making Ninja Gaiden for Kinect where you actually have to flip around and kick shit, though. Push a button to kick shit is context for a different kind of challenge than "actually kick shit to kick shit". Same with Pro Mode in RB3. Flipping through song lists, some have really hard controller guitar parts and relatively easy pro mode guitar parts in the same song. Some are the opposite.
Point being, enjoying pro mode is the enjoyment that comes from mastering a skill for (nearly) realz. I say nearly because the keyboard, being two octaves and all, is a bit nerfed.
Scared of the string-using pro guitar. Also: aroused by it.
Apparently there exist boxers made of kevlar. I can't decide if I want some or not.
