"It sounds like the only answer for them is suicide."
That's a mistake.
We've been raised in this Western Philosophical notion wherein meaning and value come from some fixed permanence. So when the truth of our completely arbitrary and meaningless, valueless, existence is said people think they have to kill their selves or that life is not worth living.
But that's the mistake: Worth Living.
Why does there have to be worth? Why can't it just be living?
We are living. Worth is an illusion; it's always been an illusion.
So stop living in crazy land, accept that there is no worth, and do shit.
Why? There is no why.
Just do shit. There's no reason. Just do shit.
And you don't even have to do shit. There's no have to.
The problem is that there is some facticity to existence, meaningless and valueless though it may be. So, for example, to get beer one requires barley (for the sake of argument let's assume that barley is required; I honestly don't know). If one burns all of the barley fields then one can no longer make beer.
And it's not that one "needs" or "ought to" consider that. It's just...barley is required to have beer. If there is no barley there can be no beer.
What one does not say is "you need to consider this" or "you ought to consider this", because there is no need or ought with regard to human action.
Rather, we simply articulate the relation between beer and barley. Then things happen.

So, whatever.
Well, not "whatever".
