The problem is...I really can't think of another way to write this.

To summarize the situation, in Spinoza's Ethics there is a section (2P7) in which Spinoza says X. Then in 5P23 Spinoza says ~X. The professor, for the past 10 years, has been trying to rectify this problem and thinks he has done it. I do not think he has done it.

So my paper is just me saying "In 2P7 spinoza says X. X is the opposite of ~X. Therefore, 5P23 contradicts 2P7." in a lot of different ways.

It's kind of....here.

In 2P7 Spinoza says "there are no poodles". Then in 5P23 Spinoza says, "Dude, there are a fucking shit-ton of poodles."

And my paper is explaining how that is a contradiction.

But, really? You just have to put those sentences next to one another and hope the fucking professor just "gets it". And i can do it in a few different ways...but I really just want to say "what the fuck is wrong with you? X is the opposite of ~X. What the fuck is wrong with you?"; December 3, 2008 at 12:28 AM
