_J_ said...: The economy takes a while to not suck. Once you open up Act 2 and 3, you can start changing orbs into other orbs more easily, and things streamline. At the beginning it is a pain.

But, really, you oughtn't need to use orbs until you finish normal difficulty at least. So they don't really hold you back.
