Vote [chat]

If you live in Indiana or North Carolina it would probably behoove the human species if you voted on Tuesday, May 6th.

Unless you vote for Kang.

""I need everybody's help," Obama said. "This is going to be a close race.""

I watched Revenge of the Sith last night. I'm not sure why.

Anyway...

Obi-Wan: Only a Sith deals in absolutes!
Rifftrax: Are you absolutely sure about that?

Win.

Wii and PS2 Rock Band Track Packs

Since the Wii has a shitty online system (no, seriously, it's really shitty) and the PS2 has no online system downloadeable content for these systems was impossible. So apparently 20 song "track packs" will be sold for these systems.

I think this is nifty.

Hillary Clinton hates voters

_J_ said...

I don't think she hates voters so much as she hates rules.

And as we learned from George W. Bush it's a-ok for a President to hate and ignore rules.

Kyle, you need to hear Stephen Lynch's
"Almighty Malachi, Bowling God"

There are some great bits in there.

Link:

"With “Iron Man” proving that even a B-list superhero can sizzle at the multiplex, Marvel Studios on Monday placed big-screen bets on three of his fellows. “Thor,” the story of a partly disabled medical student whose alter ego is the Norse god of thunder and lightning, is scheduled for a June 2010 release. A tentatively titled “The First Avenger: Captain America” will follow, in May 2011. (Captain America, left.) And then there’s “Ant-Man,” about a scientist who can control insects. It has a writer and director but no release date. Along the way, Marvel will serve up “Iron Man 2” in April 2010 and “The Avengers,” a team that includes Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk, in July 2011."

With regard to "The Avenger"? I called it.

Most everyone did, J.

They were waiting to see if Iron Man worked or not, though.. First Marvel studio run movie.

There's a tease for it IN the movie.

I don't think it matters how many people called it so long as I called it.

Also, there's no way in hell that they can make a good movie about a character whose wikipedia page is barely two pages long.

_J_ said...

Also, I had no idea that Iron Man was a B-List super hero.

I mean, Ozzy wrote a song about him. That has to elevate him to A-List status.

I shall not rise to your bait, Sir!

DAMNIT!

it's all about CHARACTER, man.. not villians, and not wiki bios..

it's all about the dude in the suit... what's INSIDE matters, not what's out.

Except.. sometimes.. the suit.. that matters... the repulsors and what not... But still not quite as much as the man.. it's a metaphor, you see.. because.. his heart had to be replaced..

It's really Stan Lee's "The Grinch who Manufactured Weapons"

Shit man, I heard that song 4 years ago. You are behind the times.

Also Ant Man has much more than 2 pages. You just don't realize it. Ant Man is actually Henry Pym, who has closer to 5 or 6 pages.

_J_ said...

"it's all about the dude in the suit... what's INSIDE matters, not what's out."

Actually, if we learned anything from Tigerrific it's that what's INSIDE the suit is completely useless if all of their power comes from the suit.

_J_ said...

"Ant Man is actually Henry Pym, who has closer to 5 or 6 pages."

That leads to an interesting question of whether the movie will be exclusively about Ant Man or if it will be about, say Henry Pym and they're just using the title "Ant Man" because it sounds really really stupid.

Indiana is close indeed! I'm crossing my fingers for Obama.

We were looking for this info last night:
Clinton loaned campaign millions:

"According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton's $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants."

It's as if people aren't giving her money because they don't like her.

Person with whom I work sends out an e-mail.

E-mail: Leaving a bit early to attend my son's third grade play: "Bambi".

My Reply: Which third grader is playing Bambi's mom? And how traumatized will they be as a result?

_J_ said...

*Update*

Apparenty the Third Graders changed the story so that the play ends with the arrival of Spring. Bambi's mother did not die.

Fucking pansy-ass Third Graders.

Those of you with Wiis and DSii to spare.. have any of you played around with the Nintendo Channel yet?

it's all promotional, all the time.. which.. you know..meh..

but they've bundled a variation of the DS Download Station software into it, like at the demo kiosks.

It's kinda neat, and hella conveinent, though the current demo selection mostly sucks.. the promise of what it could be, though, once they get the demos up to the number of demos available at the kiosks and what not.. is most intriguing.
