Some Guitar Hero III (wii) notes

I've been playing GH3 for the wii for about a week now, and i thought it would post a few comments. This is the first time i have ever played through the single player mode, so i started with easy. After a week am about half way through the mediam difficulty. I am having a lot of fun with it. My friend Sarah has it for her wii as well...hopefully we will get a chance to play through co-op during finals week.

1) the graphics are nice and clear. Ive not played 2 on on 360, or 3 on other systems. But i am impressed with the way it looks visa-vie the ps2.

2) i kinda felt like the wiimote intigration in to the guitar was gimmicy. But it works really well. the missed not sound and rumble adds a great cue

3) battle mode is lame.

4) i really like the set list - it is not till the slip-note song that there is a song that i could not play over and over

5) hammer on = way more easy -

The Wiimote itself is gimmicky.

I'd like to see GH3 on the Wii. On the 360 the background animations and character designs are pretty. On the PS2 they are ok. I would say that only the note graphics really matter and everything else is fluff...but the lead singer is horrendous.

Are updates available for the Wii version?

Hammer-ons are not "easy" so much as they conform to the established note recognition system unlike in GH1. Strummed notes have a window in which they can be played after they cross the strum line. Hammer-ons and pull-offs now, unlike in GH1, conform to that same system.

So while they are indeed less difficult to play this is not because they made the game "easier". They simply fixed the dichotomy between the strum note delay and the "you must hit this note at this exact moment" hammer-on pull-off crap from GH1.

not yet - but i believe that there will be in the future.

to make clear my comments - it is much more clear in gh3 that notes can be "hammered-on"

How does the Wiimote - Guitar Controller - Wii interraction work? Does the Wiimote send the only signal and the guitar communicates with the Wiimote, or do the Wiimote and Guitar Controller both send signals? Or some other combination?

from what i can tell the wii mote does everything.

it is went sends the date to the system. it takes care of the tilt sensor.

you do not put batteries into the guitar, just plug the wiimote.

That's a terribly good idea.

In some ways it might justify the plastic add-on crap for the Wiimote, like the baseball bat or the billiard que.

Except the Guitar Hero controller shows developers how to do this correctly and not just make a plastic piece of crap.

If the Guitar Hero Controller sends the signal to the Wiimote does that mean that the game can be played without the guitar hero controller and one can simply push the buttons of the wiimote? What is the button layout?

on can play the game with the wiimote just like one does with the ps2 control

the D-Pad takes care of G-R-Y-B.
O is played with the B-trigger i think. i don't have the book in my office

i will bring my wii and guitar hero him with my when i am in town for thanksgiving.

If the D-pad represents different notes, how exactly does one do all of the chords?

Mike Lewis said...

errr
like i said i didnt not have the book in front on me.

B = G
R = "right" on D-Pad
Y = A
B = 1
O = 2

Up for star power
