But one of the flaws with the carbon dating argument is that it assumes that an object could not have been created in such a way 6,000 years ago to have had the properties which would make carbon dating think it was 5 million years ago.

I think it is entirely sensible, when making the divine creator argument, to argue that 6,000 years ago God spoke existence into existence with dinosaur bones and a partially completed Grand Canyon.

By the same argument one could argue that God spoke existence into existence 30 seconds ago and created an elaborate blog archive to trick us, placed these memories of past events in our mind to trick us.

Once we open the door to "god did it" there's really no way to stop it. And the whole carbon dating argument fails to acknowledge that.; September 29, 2008 at 1:06 AM

Andrew said...: Jolly- Carbon Dating only goes back accurately 100,000 - 150,000 years with a maximum of 500,000 years at the expense of accuracy.
