AntiSpore.com

I bring a gift.

antispore.com: Resisting EA’s War on Creationism

Have Fun.

Here's a little snippet from the Debating Creation post:

Seems a lot of Evolutionairyists have been stopping by and commenting.

I am not afraid of a debate. I just wish they would be a little nicer. But I understand that some people get pretty defensive when they know they are wrong.

Yeah. That's it.

interesting, inasmuch as Spore is a game of intelligent design.

Evolution works of the principle of trial and error through genetic mutations. There is no outside interference, just the random exchange of chromosomes. The best set of chromosomes wins, and gets passed on to then next generation.

That is not what Spore does, however. In spore, the player acts as unseen force guiding the evolution along ever step of the process. When your creature levels up, the player picks which genetic mutations (evolutionary steps) work best.

Isn't that the definition of intelligent design?

After reading through that site, I have to believe it is an elaborate hoax. No one could possibly be that stereotypically creationist could they?

Like these quotes:

"8,500 people all working together and not a single one with enough Jesus to stand up and say what they are doing is wrong."

"I can tell you right away there is no way to build a better being. We were created in Gods image. You can’t get any better than that."

Even if this site is a hoax, the sentiment is not. Ars has a long article about Spore and ID. Also, Will Wright is very religious, and has given a shit ton of money to the republican party over the last few years.

I don't think that takes anything away from the game, or Wright. But the ideology of the creator impacts their creation.

"Evolution works of the principle of trial and error through genetic mutations."

Except it's not trial and there is no error. It's just SHIT HAPPENING. Genes mutate over time. That's what they do. And that's what science noticed and gave a neat little title to.

But that's it.

Yes, from a particular context we can toss about the labels of "behoove" and "detrimental" like arsenic laced candies at a July 4th parade but evolution is not operating with some greater goal of helping or harming. Evolution has no goal. Evolution is not a thing which goals. Evolution is not some sentient force in reality making decisions, testing various models for some end.

It's just gene mutation which occurs as a result of the haphazard, accidental spawning of poorly constructed genes from random chemicals which, given billions of years to continually change, eventually produced beings who KEEP FUCKING ANTHROPOMORPHIZING THINGS!

Antispore.com was an Elaborate Rickroll.

Well Played.
