Spreadingsantorum.com: Not #1 on Google Search

Spreadingsantorum.com has fallen from the top Google result when one searches "Santorum". There is some speculation regarding why Spreadingsantorum.com is no longer the first search result for Santorum.

On the off chance that the lowered ranking results from a lack of links to Spreadingsantorum.com, I thought we could offer a few links to Spreadingsantorum.com in some posts and comments that link to Spreadingsantorum.com.

i would go back and edit the post so each of those links points at a different page.

Google will only count first link since each one points at the same page.

to be more specific: the anchor text for the first link to a page is the only one that counts. later links have an impact, but much less so. If the first link is a 10 the second link might be worth 5 and the third 2 etc.

They did this to prevent people from doing exactly what you did in the post.

spreadingsantorum.com made it to #1 because of Googlebombs. It stayed their because it became the best result. Now he is running for president, is no longer necessarily the best result.

What if I made 1,000 blog posts each of which contain a link to spreadingsantorum.com?

each link will still have value but google and bing also look at the IP address the website with the link.

Every blogspot.com blog has the same or nearly the same C-Block (aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd). While each link will count - links from the same C block will count a little less.

So 1 link from www.nifftystuff.com might be a 10 while each link from everyoneisasith might be a 8.
