Oh so wrong, but oh so
Right?

I had my tonsils out on Thursday. On the pain medicine bottle it says "1 tsp every 4 hours." Apparently it was supposed to say "3 tsp every 4 hours."

That's right. I've been getting 1/3 of the pain medicine I was supposed to have since my operation on Thursday.

My tolerance for pain has gigantic testicles.

Kylebrown said...

pssshhh... you take pain meds. You're tolerance for pain has no testicles...

Roscoe said...

Jay.. those aren't huge.... that's testicular cancer.

Those things are going to have to come off.

Caleb said...

This has just been downgraded to the quasi-essential chat.

_J_ said...

I'd like you to find something more quintessential than my manliness.

Kylebrown said...

it's not your manliness that is in question, it the manliness of your pain tolerance.

_J_ said...

Ah.

So my desire to buy a bunch of Avril Lavigna songs would have no impact on this conversation.

Roscoe said...

Oh, it would definately impact this conversation... see.. Derailment falls under impaction..

This is Christina. I'm locked out of my account for some reason...this is worrisome.

_J_ said...

What do you mean by "locked out"?

Christina said...

Is fixed. No worries.

_J_ said...

what was the problem?

Kylebrown said...

I blame militant hedgehogs...

Christina said...

Actually, it wasn't hedgehogs. It was chipmunks, but you were close.

Roscoe said...

I take no responsiblity for the actions of rodents in the vicinty of my personage.

Kylebrown said...

are you sure it was chipmunks? Was there a red squirrel with multiple tails? If so, they were likely working for the hedgehogs. The hedgehogs are sly and crafty like that.

speaking of furry animals. The one at the top of the page is the best thing I've seen all week, and most of the others are good too (though I don't know how many of these people have already seen):

I heart Dunecat

Man, Andy Bear loved talking about Dune.

Caleb said...

Let's sing the Dune song:

Dune Dune Dune Du-Dune Dune Dune...

Man, so Transformers mediassrape 2.0 is on with the video coming out, and there's this toy where Prime turns into a gun? And another where they call Bumblebee the most advanced Transformer evar?

Everything's all ass over tea kettle here!

MA17 said...

I was at Best Buy and saw two things next to each other that made me laugh because now in my head there's a show called 30 Rock From the Sun.

MA17 said...

Also, what the hell is this "a very special The Office" shit? It's like boo hoo relationship city in here.

_J_ said...

I couldn't watch The Office because there was a storm in Northern Indiana and the local NBC affiliate decided to show off their doppler radar.

Also? I woke up at 3:30 a.m. to omg pain in the back of my throat. I was supposed to wake up at 2 to take my pain medicine but apparently slept through the alarm.

yea-gods that sucked. I thought I was doing well, too, but apparently I suck and the pain medicine is what keeps me able to sit up.

And I say that after taking 1/3 of the prescribed doseage for the first 5 days after the surgery.

I hate it when Torrents stop at 99% or greater. Because if you've gone through the torrent and removed all of the useless .txt files and whatnot then you know that what you're waiting to download is the silence at the end of a song or a second or two of black at the end of a video.

I have one at 99.8% right now that is taunting me.

_J_ said...

OW.

I expected the worst pain to be right after my surgery not a week later.

OW.

Jay,Adam- There exists an iso of the GH3 demo disc. I have it. It will be burnt to cd, put in the 360 in the other room, and I shall forth sit in Rock Judgement.

Like Damocles, I shall be!

_J_ said...

I obtained the GH2 demo disk when it came out.

It was not entirely indicative of the gameplay of GH2.

Roscoe said...

Of intrest is less how indicative it is, and more something new to play, and wondering how close Neversoft gets things to the Formula.

MA17 said...

There was a demo for GH3 at Best Buy, but I didn't play it because the two guys who were playing it refused to acknowledge my standing there as an implicit "I got next", and I'm too polite to educate the ignorant in those situations.

Eyes-on impression? It looks...different.

_J_ said...

From what I have seen on Youtube, which may be entirely inaccurate, it does have a different visual style, or at least the screen layout is significantly different.

Also the whole "battle mode" thing could really change the gameplay and make GH3 seem more like a game.

Because there is a manner in which GH1 and GH2 are viewed as something other than games, and playing a song is about more than getting through it or obtaining a high score. Like when Ros would say he wouldn't use star power because he wanted to pass the song without it, and how a person can get through Bark at the Moon but feel as if they still stuck since they've yet to play 95% or more of the notes.

Battle mode, in my understanding, goes beyond the simulated guitar playing and actually puts mario-kart-esque game mechanics into GH3, with power-ups to aid the player or harm the opponent.

It will be interesting.

The Torrent of every episode of Pokemon Season 1 is only 13.4 gigs.

How do I know this? Well, I just happen to be a sad, pathetic person...

I like this post I just made on the PA forums:

In college I really enjoyed theological discussions and nit-picking people's ill-conceived, unfounded theological constructs until they either walked away or started crying. And I still do enjoy it, but it's just so damn depressing.

Mostly because I pity these people capable of existing only because they have fabricated some notion which gives their lives purpose and meaning, incapable of standing on their own independed of some indoctrinated security blanket.

And then we get people like Church, who are so damn obstinant that theirs is a unique, sensible, reasonable position maintained by years of careful scrutiny in their parent's basement listening to The Cure while cutting themselves.

And you know they've never studied philosophy or theology. You know they're just trying to piss off their parents, or prove how damn creative or smart they are, regardless of the fact that their position is neither creative nor smart.

It's just frustrating and depressing.
