I like his new artwork for a fan, but is it just me or does it feel like Yahtzee has been half assing his last few ZPs? Almost as if he feels the need to keep producing them even though he isn't really motivated to do so?
I don't know if it is that or if we're accustomed to them now. I went back and watched some of the earlier ones and they are no huge noticeable differences between those and these more recent ones. The difference is that back then Zero Punctuation was fresh and new and now it's just something that happens on Wednesday. I still enjoy it, but it is less of an impact.
Part of it may be a lack of motivation...but I have no idea how someone who is paid to hate things could not be motivated to do their job.
I'd kill puppies for his job. Big-eyed puppies with bows around their necks.
some of it may well be editorially driven, as well.. if (and this is supposition) he's being asked to cover newer releases and not simply what gets his ire up or strikes a chord, then...
well.. he may not have as much to say or shout about.

But if he's forced to review something that ought to make him hate it more.
See: Smash Brothers review.
Not if it's competent, but just blandly sub-par...
Hate is less there, and more meh.
