Man, the joke doesn't even start until 43 seconds in.
You're like the guy who didn't like the X-Men movies because, according to him, "The movies are just flipbooks of scenes from old X-men Comics that fade into the word MARVEL. What a ripoff!"
Yeah I realize it took a while. A lot of sites have been dragging their feet on this, but I love it when they are complete. So much cleaner viewing the blog with the mobile theme.
The terrific part about mobile themes is that they end up being more intuitive and efficient than the non-mobile theme. So I use the mobile versions rather than the regular.
My hope is that others browse in a similar fashion, and this trend results in a shift to efficiency in site design.
Yeah the efficiency gains are tremendous for the phone, which still suffers from limited bandwidth and more importantly limited memory for page rendering. The videos and images on the home page kick my poor phone's ass. The topic oriented home page is exceptionally helpful.
We don't suffer the same pain on a full featured desktop or laptop though because they have the resources to handle the extra bandwidth and memory requirements without blinking an eye. So I do agree to a point that the mobile sites are more efficient and would like to see similar behavior in the non mobile world. However, I don't mind pulling down entire blog posts on entry to the site as long as it doesn't slow my consumption.
Serious question? When, precisely, did Scott Adams devolve into a douchebag?
Was he ALWAYS one, and we just ignored the signs? I'm thinking of his story about self-actualization and getting Dilbert syndicated here, the upshot being that he actively enjoyed the cancellation of Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes, etc..
@Kyle: My concern with efficiency is discerning what a site is, and finding the most efficient way of doing that. It's the point of <a href="http://xkcd.com/773/>that xkcd comic</a>.
Google figured that shit out years ago with their site design.

I just passed 10,000 achievement points in WoW.
I'd take time to respond to past _J_'s stance on WoW achievements, only I can't hear his bitching over the sound of how awesome I am.
achievement whore.
We made it 30 seconds into the video. Is there a punchline? I don't think i can take anymore.

okay. that is pretty great.
Man, no. No, J, no.
Obvious attempt at bad comedy is Obvious.
Sounds like someone is lashing out, due to the pain of realizing that he can’t hug every [chat] in the world.
But it’s ok. It’ll be alright.
It was crazy to think that you could hug every [chat].
Woot! Blogger has a new mobile theme. Count me as a fan.
Indeed.

The pronunciation of German names is often quite unfortunate.
OMG, I have been rated!
I am a little freaked out by this.
@kyle: the mobile theme went live some time last week. It only took 4 years.

But.. was THAT our warning sign?
