Also, when teaching in a foreign country, know your local customs and laws.

Whenever I hear something regarding this story I imagine in my mind the peoples of the Sudan screaming in one unified voice, "We're sensible!"

Because, you know, Teddy Bear.

Also, 40 lashes?

Really, Sudan?

Really?

I'll grant that much of the basis for ignorant Americans calling these people "backwater camel fuckers" is baseless. But, 40 lashes? It's not really helping their image.

Teacher found Guilty.

15 days in jail and deportation are what she received for the crime of insulting religion.

Anyone have that picture of a crucifix in a jar of urin handy? I feel like exercising my right to insult religion.

Just in time for the holidays, The Bob McCarty Shop™ announces the arrival of the MY NAME IS MOHAMMED THE BEAR™.

Designed as a keepsake for all the people who think the British school teacher in Sudan (click here to read about her) who named a teddy bear Mohammed is being treated unfairly -- she was originally sentenced to 40 lashes! -- by the Sudanese courts, this soft plush bear features a red bow and t-shirt and measures 11 inches tall.

Makes a great Christmas gift! To order it today, click here!
