it's out today?
Dammnit.
it is out today. I used Amazon's mp3 store and it was super easy
When i got home i will pounce over "More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle"
i think you all will enjoy that.
also - if you have not signed up for pownce.com - you should
it is a super easy way to share files - inasmuch as sending files via AIM does not work
Does pownce.com do anything else, though?
Our five minutes of experimentation that one time (make a gay joke; I dare you) did not impress me very much (come on. Make a gay joke...).
pownce.com is just another facebook/myspace/IM replacement.
And I don't know why the fuck people would prefer a browser based facebook/myspace to something like ICQ or Trillian.
I dunno... Pownce has let me pick up things from Mikey pretty easily...
I haven't used it to send anything as I have little to send... I don't think it's for messages as much as it is for file-transfer.
it is not a replacement for myspace/facebook
while it is a social networking website, it is for file sharing.
as for when we were playing with it in december, it was still in beta and you were using IE.
the advantage pownce has over sending files via an IM program is
1) it has permanence. you can get the file at your leisure
2) both people do not have to be online at the same time and do not have to be using the exact same version of the IM client. Which is nearly impossible at this point since you and ros use Trillian, i use aduim etc
3) social networks seem to have a function way beyond just sending messages. They are a public space were IM is a privet space. That is an awful metaphor but it is the best i have been able to come up with.
as for pownce - it is for sending files. It does not do a lot else.
