Thinking about it, though, the Kael'thas and Vashj fights are, according to some, more difficult than some Hyjal and Black Temple fights.
So with the removal of attunement players could go to Hyjal and BT, get some gear, and then use that to beat Vashj and Kael'thas.
That and it will be funny to hear stories of guilds who are still working on Karazhan bosses who decided to run BT and get their asses handed to them.
What is odd is that many of the badge gear and Sunwell Items are better than Tier 6 gear. So it will be interesting to see how that plays out in terms of the content upon which guilds focus.
I'm also wondering if the new que as group option for AV will break AV just as they tried to fix it.
Also as I'm thinking about it... People who just want pvp gear really need not do anything but run AV from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. every weeknight and noon - midnight on saturday and sundays.
That schedule would put players in full PVP sets very quickly. If they just did that for a month, or probably less than a month, they could get full gear and then go back to playing casually. Rather than draw it out over a few months they could just dump their time in, get the gear, and then go back to casual play.
It really should have been in the game from day one.
Summoning stones were an idiotic warlock nerf. If people can't be bothered to take a warlock with them then they needed to have to run to an instance to remind them of why they need a warlock.
I'm freaking excited about it. It will make switching out alts hells easier and if people drop group it will be much faster to get replacements.
Plus it increases warlock utility.
I have not seen anything regarding whether or not warlocks will finally be able to summon into Netherstorm or the Tempest Keep instances. I hope the patch allows this.
I leave for lunch in 7 minutes. I'm really tempted to stay home and not come back.
Reading through the wowwiki pages for some of the characters in this patch makes me once again wish that WoW could somehow include the story element in its gameplay experience rather than it being a GUI over a loot table spreadsheet.
Like if somehow Kil'Jaden could be a part of the WoW experience in a manner which could be as cool as the story.
I love this patch. I don't know if the changes really helped horde out in AV as much as there is a renewed confidence in horde, leading people to believe that they can win this. Something that hasn't been around in a while. Also Bal and Van die really fast now, that must have been nice to have that be the case permanently.
I also was able to burn through my ridiculous number of tokens I had saved up. dropped 50 of each for around 16 or 17k honor instantly, and picked up the weapon I never had the patience to get before. Yeah new patch.

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy. New daily quests. New 5 person and 25 person instances. New badge loot. I can finally summon people into instances.
Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy.
I'm quite tempted to take the afternoon off...though the servers are probably crashing as it is Tuesday and this is what happens on Tuesday.
The removal of attunement requirements for instances sort of peeves me a bit but I can get over that.
I mostly just want to start doing the new daily quests and run some heroics so I can get badges so I can buy new gear.

summon people into instances?!?!
it was shit like that NOT being a part of game that made it nearly imposible to figure out what was going on.
this should of been a part of the game from day one.
that being said - i am not going to playing the game any time soon.

Also, 2.4 is what starts that Arena tournament thing where players make level 70 characters with full gear and then Arena.
So if people were interested in that...it is available now.
i am guessing one has to have the expation in order to get access to that?
My guess would be that the expansion is required but I have no idea. The internet may know.
Installed the patch over lunch. The servers are down so I came back to work.
Woo patch day.
From the FAQ:
You must "Have World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade installed."

It's like we found the Tennisball launcher for Jay-Daschund.

I don't know what I think of the new patch yet. I liked it in theory. But in practice...
Guild did part of Mt. Hyjal last night. Downed one boss and made it to the second boss fight.
I still don't know what I think of 2.4.
